Empty vintage 1.3 gallon wooden Whiskey barrel Empty

About this barrel

This empty vintage 1.3 gallon whiskey barrel, about 4.9 liters, is a used oak keg with a weathered look that new barrels can't fake. It suits rustic decor, a man cave shelf or a craft project.

Can a vintage 1.3 gallon oak barrel be reused for aging?

Possibly, but old staves can dry out. Ask the seller how it was stored and what it held before. Do a water swell test before you trust it with spirits.

• Size: about 4.9 liters, between a mini and a 10L cask.
• Photos: check the hoops, staves, bung and spigot holes for gaps or damage.
