Antique Vintage Oak Iron Strap Beer Keg Whiskey Barrel with Cradle

About this barrel

An antique beer keg with cradle is an easy display piece, because the stand question is already answered. This vintage oak keg is bound with iron straps and listed as a beer keg or whiskey barrel for $350.00. Iron-hooped kegs like this recall the days before steel kegs took over the taproom. No condition is specified, so rely on the photos.

Where does an antique oak beer keg with cradle look best?

On a back bar, in a basement pub, in a man cave or beside a fireplace. The cradle keeps it off the floor and stops it from rolling.

• Iron straps: look in the photos for rust, gaps or loose rivets.
• Cradle: ask whether it's original to the keg or added later.
• Size: capacity isn't stated, so get dimensions to check the fit.
• Care: a light coat of paste wax helps protect old iron and oak.
