About this barrel
Tequila, rum and whiskey each pick up something different from a 20 liter French oak barrel. This 5 gallon cask has a medium #3 char and is listed new at $250.
Why pick a 20 liter French oak barrel over American oak?
French oak usually has a tighter grain. It's often described as giving subtler spice and a slower, gentler oak influence than American white oak. That suits drinkers who want the spirit's own character to stay in front.
- Char #3: listed as medium char, a popular middle level for spirits.
- Spirits named: the title lists tequila, rum, whiskey and moonshine.
- Hardware: our data doesn't confirm a stand, bung or spigot.
- Guarantee: covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
Fill it with water for a few days before the first batch so the staves can seal.
