2L Oak Aging Barrel with Stand, Bung & Spigot - Mini Whiskey & Wine Aging Kit

About this barrel

Winemakers and whiskey fans can both use this 2L oak aging barrel with stand, bung and spigot. It's sold as a mini whiskey and wine aging kit and listed new. It's an easy way to see what oak does to a red blend or a young spirit.

Can you age wine in a 2 liter oak barrel?

You can, but keep it short. A small cask adds oak flavor quickly, so taste wine every few days and bottle it once you like the flavor.

• Wine or whiskey first: in a charred barrel, aging spirit first can soften it for wine later. The title doesn't mention char, so check.
• Prep: soak it with water until the staves are tight.
• Hardware: stand, bung and spigot are included, according to the title.
• Hygiene: keep it full or store it properly between uses.
