Authentic Antique Primitive Wooden Barrel / Keg Cask with Wood Tap Spigot

About this barrel

Hand-worn wood, a simple shape and a wooden tap: this antique wooden keg with spigot fits primitive and farmhouse interiors. Wooden taps are less common than metal ones, and they add to the old-world look.

Can I use an antique keg with a wood spigot for drinks?

It's best not to. An old cask and tap can harbor dirt or residue, and the wood may not seal anymore. Use it as a centerpiece, a kitchen accent or a prop for rustic events.

• Spigot: check that the wood tap is intact and fits snugly. Ask the seller if it turns.
• Condition: used and described as primitive, so expect patina and uneven surfaces.
• Size: not specified. Ask for the height and width.
• Styling: pair it with crocks, baskets or stoneware on an open shelf.
