20L Vertical Wooden Wine Barrel w/ Faucet&Bracket for storing whiskey, rum, brandy

About this barrel

Getting a new 20L oak barrel with a faucet ready is mostly a matter of patience. This vertical wooden barrel comes with a bracket and is listed for whiskey, rum and brandy. A careful first setup means fewer drips and better results.

How do you prepare a new wooden whiskey barrel before filling?

Fill it with clean water and let the staves soak it up until any seeping stops. For a barrel this size, that can take a few days. Then drain it and add your spirit.

• Faucet: check that it stays snug during the water soak.
• Small leaks: these usually close up as the wood swells.
• Never let it dry: keep it filled, or refill it soon after emptying.
• Unlisted details: confirm the char or toast level before you choose a spirit.
