20L Vertical Wooden Wine Barrel w/ Faucet&Bracket for storing whiskey, rum, brandy

About this barrel

Before a 20 liter oak barrel ever holds whiskey, rum or brandy, it needs a drink of water. New staves are dry, and soaking lets the wood expand until the joints close. This listing is a new vertical oak barrel with a faucet and bracket. It costs $95.51 and is sold by an independent eBay seller.

How do you swell a new 20 liter oak barrel before filling?

Fill it with clean water and let it sit, topping it up as the wood soaks up liquid. Small weeps usually tighten as the staves expand. Keep the barrel upright on its bracket while it soaks.

• Watch the faucet fitting for drips during the water test.
• Drain it fully before adding spirit or wine.
• If the seller includes prep instructions, follow those first. Check the listing.
• Don't let an empty barrel dry out between batches.
