Charred Oak Aging Barrel - 1 Gallon Mini Barrel for Unique Cocktails & Spirits

About this barrel

A 1 gallon charred oak aging barrel can turn a bottle of young spirit or a batch of Manhattans into something rounder. This new mini barrel holds about 3.8L. Because it's small, the liquid touches a lot of wood for its volume, so flavor builds in weeks, not years.

How fast does a 1 gallon charred oak aging barrel work?

Faster than most people expect. Taste every few days at first, because a mini barrel can over-oak a spirit if you forget about it.

• Swell it first: fill it with water and let the staves tighten before you add spirits.
• Char level: the title says charred but gives no level, so check the listing or ask the seller.
• Good first fills: barrel-aged cocktails, white whiskey, rum or tequila.
• Price: $189.99, new condition.
