About this barrel
Want a 10 liter oak barrel for rum, tequila or whiskey projects? This new American oak barrel holds 10.0L, about 2.5 gallons, and the title lists a medium char (#3) at $135.00.
Is a 10 liter barrel a good size for home aging?
It sits between the mini barrels and the 20L class. Small barrels age faster than large ones, so a 2.5 gallon barrel suits people who want to see changes sooner. Sample often so the oak doesn't overpower the spirit.
- Char: medium char, shown as #3 in the title.
- Spirits named: tequila, rum, whiskey and moonshine all appear in the listing title.
- Before filling: swell the barrel with water to tighten the seams, as with any new barrel.
- Check: stand, spigot and bung details in the listing.
