2 Liter Oak Aging Barrel with Wood Stand, Bung & Spigot - Mini Whis... Fast Ship

About this barrel

For a first try at aging at home, this new 2 liter oak aging barrel comes with a wood stand, bung and spigot. It's listed at $93.99 as a mini whiskey barrel. The seller's title mentions fast shipping, so confirm the actual handling time in the listing.

Is a 2 liter oak aging barrel a good starter size?

Yes, for most beginners. Two liters is a little under three standard 750 ml bottles, and the small size means oak flavor shows up quickly.

• Ready to pour: the spigot and stand let you take samples without tipping the barrel.
• Fast results: taste every few days, because mini barrels can make a spirit too oaky.
• First step: fill it with water to swell the staves and stop seepage.
• Char: the char level isn't specified, so look for it in the listing.
