10L Barrel Cask Wooden Storager For Wine Brandy Whiskey Beer Dispenser Keg

About this barrel

Mini barrels can make a spirit too oaky in a matter of weeks. A 10L whiskey barrel slows things down, so a larger batch picks up color and sweetness at a steadier pace. This new oak cask is also listed for wine, brandy and beer.

How long does whiskey take in a 10 liter oak barrel?

Usually months rather than weeks, depending on the char level, the temperature and the spirit you start with. Draw a sample every few weeks.

• Char: the data doesn't state it. Check the listing, because char shapes the flavor.
• Batch math: about 13 standard bottles per fill.
• Swell first: soak it with water until it holds without leaking.
• Stay full: a partly empty barrel ages unevenly and can dry out.
