About this barrel
A vintage Dominican rum barrel like this used Tamobra oak cask brings some Caribbean distilling history to a home bar, den or restaurant wall. The listing doesn't give a capacity, so think of it as a display piece first. Check the seller's photos and description for its dimensions.
Can a vintage Dominican rum barrel still be used for aging?
Maybe, but don't count on it. Older casks often dry out and leak. If you want to fill it, ask the seller whether it holds liquid. Then swell it with water before you put any spirits in it.
- Condition: listed as used, so look closely at the photos for cracks, loose hoops or worm holes.
- Size: not stated. Ask for the height and diameter before you buy.
- Markings: look in the photos for any Tamobra stencils or stamps you care about.
- Display ideas: rum-themed bar decor, a tiki corner or a collector's shelf.
