About this barrel
Collectors looking for a Friedenwald's rye whiskey baby barrel should take a close look at this one. It's a vintage 1 gal. (about 3.785 L) oak barrel, and its title mentions "7 yr. old Pure Rye Whiskey." An independent eBay seller lists it used at $495.00.
Is a 1 gallon vintage whiskey barrel meant for aging or display?
Most buyers value a piece like this as distillery history, not as a working cask. The listing doesn't say whether it still holds liquid, so treat it as a display item unless the seller says otherwise.
- Zoom in on the photos for markings, stamps or labels that match the title.
- Ask the seller about its age, origin and any repairs.
