1 Gallon American Oak Bourbon Aging Barrel (5 Liter) with Wood Stand, Bung an...

About this barrel

Bourbon gets much of its character from American oak, so a 1 gallon American oak bourbon barrel is a logical pick for aging whiskey at home. This new 5 liter cask comes with a wood stand and a bung. The title is cut off after that, so check the listing for anything else that's included.

Is a 1 gallon American oak barrel good for beginners?

Yes. It's big enough to hold several bottles of spirit, yet small enough that you'll see results in weeks. That quick feedback makes it easy to learn how oak, time and proof interact.

• Rinse and soak it with water before the first fill to tighten the joints.
• Keep it out of direct sun and away from big temperature swings.
• Try white whiskey, an affordable bourbon or rum, and compare the results.
• Confirm the char level and whether a spigot is included in the listing.

It's listed at $157.85 and covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
