Balazs New Hungarian Oak Barrel - 1L (0.26 gal)

About this barrel

The Balazs 1L Hungarian oak barrel holds just 0.26 gallons, which makes it one of the smallest aging casks you'll see on eBay. An independent seller lists it new at $145.00. Hungarian oak is similar to French oak and is often described as subtle and a little spicy. It's popular for wine and brandy.

What can you age in a 1 liter Hungarian oak barrel?

You can age wine, whiskey, rum, brandy or even vinegar. A barrel this small works very fast, so start tasting within days.

• Fill it with water before the first use so the joints swell and seal.
• It's a good size for trying out small test batches.
• The toast or char level isn't listed, so check with the seller.
• If you want more room, the 2L Balazs barrel is also listed.
