Balazs New Hungarian Oak Barrel - 2L (0.53 gal)

About this barrel

The Balazs 2L Hungarian oak barrel holds twice as much as the 1L version: 0.53 gallons, or about two and a half standard 750 ml bottles. An independent eBay seller lists it new at $145.00. Many winemakers choose Hungarian oak as a European option because it adds a gentle spice.

Is a 2L Hungarian oak cask better than a 1L?

It ages a little more slowly, so you have more control and get more out of each batch. It still finishes much sooner than a full-size barrel.
