Aimee_Jl 1.5L Whiskey Barrel Dispenser Oak Aging Barrels Home Whiskey Barrel

About this barrel

At 1.5 liters, this Aimee_Jl whiskey barrel dispenser sits between the tiny 1L casks and the popular 2L models. It's a new oak aging barrel for the home bar, listed at $59.62. Pour straight from the tap, or give a bottle of spirits some extra time on wood.

Is a 1.5 liter oak barrel a good starter size?

For many beginners, yes. It holds about two standard 750 ml bottles, ages quickly because of its small size and doesn't take much counter space.

• Before filling: soak it with water until the staves swell and stop leaking.
• Tasting schedule: check it about once a week, since small barrels can over-oak.
• Char and hardware: these aren't described here, so review the listing photos and description.
• Uses: whiskey, bourbon, rum or batched cocktails.
