Vintage in Wood Wooden Oak & Tap Oval Barrel With Copper Rings 2 Litre

About this barrel

This vintage 2 liter oak barrel with tap has an oval shape and copper rings, a look that sets it apart from the usual round mini cask. It's listed as used, so it suits a buyer who wants some character on a home bar shelf or a display piece with a bit of history.

Can a vintage 2 liter oak barrel still be used for aging?

Maybe. Older wood can dry out and leak. Check the photos and ask the seller what it held before and whether it has held liquid recently.

• Swell test first: fill it with water and let the staves tighten before you add any spirit.
• Copper rings: look at the photos for tarnish or loose rings.
• Tap: confirm it's included and turns freely.
• Decor option: if it won't hold liquid, it still makes a strong rustic accent.
