2 LITER BOURBON Whiskey Moonshine Rum Prepped OAK Aging BARREL Med Char 3 + plug

About this barrel

Home distillers and bourbon fans looking for a 2 liter bourbon aging barrel will find a lot in this new $40.00 listing. It's an oak cask described as prepped, with a #3 medium char and a plug included. The title also names whiskey, moonshine and rum, so it's sold as an all-purpose spirits cask.

Is a #3 char 2 liter bourbon aging barrel good for moonshine and rum?

A #3 char is a popular middle ground. It adds noticeable color and sweet, toasty notes without the heaviest smoke, and it's a common choice for turning white moonshine amber.

• "Prepped" claims: ask the seller what prep was done, and still swell it with water if it seeps.
• 2.0L capacity: roughly 2.6 standard 750 mL bottles, and it still ages quickly because it's small.
• Hardware: a plug is listed; check whether a spigot or stand comes with it.
• Sample often so you can stop when it tastes the way you like.
