4 PACK THICK 2 Liter .52 Gallon American White Oak Bourbon Whiskey Aging Barrel

About this barrel

A 2 liter whiskey barrel 4 pack lets you run four small aging experiments side by side: one bourbon, one rum, one with a spiced blend, one saved for a gift. These new barrels are listed as thick-walled American white oak, each holding about half a gallon (.52 gallon).

Why buy a 2 liter whiskey barrel 4 pack instead of one big cask?

Small barrels have more wood contact per ounce of liquid, so flavor develops quickly. With four of them, you can compare spirits or aging times without tying up a large batch.

• Fill each barrel with water first so the staves swell and seal before you add spirit.
• Taste often, because a 2L barrel can over-oak faster than you expect.
• The title doesn't state the char level or whether stands, bungs or spigots are included, so check the listing.
• The price is $160 for the set of four.
