2 Liter American Charred Oak Aging Barrel, Mini Whiskey Barrel Keg

About this barrel

A 2 liter charred oak aging barrel is one of the quickest ways to give store-bought whiskey a little extra barrel character at home. This new mini whiskey barrel keg is made from American oak with a charred interior. An independent eBay seller has it listed at $75.02.

How fast does a 2 liter mini whiskey barrel age spirits?

Faster than a big cask. Small barrels put more wood in contact with each ounce of liquid, so taste early and often rather than waiting months.

• Swell it first: fill it with water and let the staves tighten before adding spirits.
• Char level: the title doesn't give the char grade, so check the listing photos or ask the seller.
• Good for: bourbon, rye, rum or a batch of barrel-aged cocktails.
• Included parts: confirm whether a stand, spigot or bung comes with it.
