20L Vertical Wooden Wine Barrel w/ Faucet&Bracket for storing whiskey, rum, brandy

About this barrel

A 20L brandy aging barrel gives a young brandy or cognac-style spirit time to take on the mellow, rounded character oak is known for. This vertical oak barrel rests upright on a bracket and has a faucet, so you can pour a sample without pulling the bung or tipping the cask.

Why age brandy in a medium-size oak barrel?

A 20 liter cask works more slowly than a mini barrel. That gives grape spirits time to soften instead of turning harsh and woody. Patience pays off here.

• Soak it with water first so the staves seal.
• Fill it close to the top to reduce air space.
• Keep it away from direct sun and big temperature swings.
• Check the listing for the char or toast level, which isn't stated.
