5L Oak Wine Barrels Whiskey Barrel Dispenser Home Wine Bucket Whiskey Barrel

About this barrel

For a household that drinks a bit of everything, a 5L oak wine barrel that also works as a whiskey barrel dispenser covers a lot of ground. This one is new and sized for a generous home batch, from house red to bourbon to homemade vinegar.

Should you use one 5 liter barrel for both wine and whiskey?

It's better to pick one. Oak soaks up what it holds, so a barrel used for whiskey will flavor any wine you put in later. Many people start with spirits and then retire the barrel to vinegar.

• Seal it: soak it with water before the first fill to swell the wood.
• Speed: 5L ages more slowly than mini casks, which gives you more control.
• Check accessories: the title mentions a dispenser. Look for the stand and spigot in the photos.
• Wine bucket: that phrase in the title is vague, so read the description.
