Vintage Dark Oak Liquor Barrel with Brass Color Bands & Spout

About this barrel

A vintage dark oak liquor barrel with brass color bands and a spout gives a bar cart, mantel or den shelf an old-tavern feel. This one is listed as used at $37.50. The listing doesn't give a capacity, so check the description for measurements.

Is a vintage oak liquor barrel better for decor or for drinks?

Treat it as decor first. You don't know what it held before or whether it still seals, so review the photos and description and ask the seller before putting spirits in it.

• "Brass color" bands may describe the finish, not solid brass. Confirm with the seller.
• Check the photos for cracks, loose bands or a stuck spout.
• If you do want to fill it, clean it, swell it with water first and watch for leaks.
• Ask for the dimensions so you know it will fit your space.
