About this barrel

Made for parties or a rustic bar wall, this vertical oak barrel dispenser 20L pairs a faucet with a mounting bracket so guests can pour their own drinks. It's listed new on eBay at $85.33 and is sold for whiskey, rum, brandy and wine.

Does a large wooden barrel dispenser work for serving, not just aging?

Yes. Fill it with a batched cocktail, sangria or wine and set it up as a self-serve drink station at a cookout, wedding or holiday party.

• Fill it with water a few days before your event so the wood swells.
• Rinse and refill it soon after emptying so the oak doesn't dry out and crack.
• Check the seller's photos for the faucet and bracket style.
• Between batches it works as decor in a man cave or wine cellar.
