Heritage Collective-Mini Aging Barrel-Wooden Keg Whiskey Dispenser (No Tap)

About this barrel

This mini aging barrel wooden keg from Heritage Collective is listed as a whiskey dispenser, but the title says it has no tap. It's a used oak barrel for $14. It suits buyers who already own a spigot or only want it for display.

Can you use a mini aging barrel without a tap?

For display, yes. For aging, you'll need a way to seal it and pour from it. Check the photos to make sure the tap hole is intact, and ask the seller for its size before you order a replacement spigot.

• The capacity isn't listed, so ask or look for markings.
• It's used, so ask what spirit it held before.
• Soak it well. A barrel that's been sitting empty can take longer to swell.
• The listing doesn't mention a stand either, so you may need a cradle.
