HAMMER & AXE Wood Whiskey Vintage Barrel Holds 800 ML 27 fl oz. of Whiskey NEW

About this barrel

Want an 800 ml whiskey barrel for less than $16? This Hammer & Axe oak barrel, called vintage in its title and listed new, holds 27 fl oz and sells for $15.88.

Why choose an 800 ml barrel for home aging?

The compact size puts a lot of oak in contact with a small amount of spirit, so color and flavor develop faster than in bigger casks. It's a good way to learn barrel aging without tying up several bottles.

• Before filling: soak it in water so the staves swell tight.
• Char: not mentioned, so ask the seller or check the photos.
• Contents: check whether a stand, spigot and bung are included.
• Upkeep: keep it filled between batches so it doesn't dry out.
