Why choose a 2L oak barrel for home whiskey aging?

Two liters fits on a counter and ages quickly, but it still holds a bit more than two and a half bottles. You can get through several batches a year.

• Steel hoops: they keep the staves tight. Check them after the first soak.
• Unknowns: the title doesn't mention char level, spigot, bung or stand, so read the listing.
• First step: swell it with water for a day or more until the leaks stop.
• Try it with: white whiskey, rum or a batch of cocktails.
