1 Liter Charred American Oak Aging Barrel with Wood Stand, Bung & Spigot

About this barrel

The smallest barrels give the fastest results, which is why a 1 liter charred American oak aging barrel appeals to first-time home agers. This new listing from an independent eBay seller comes with a wood stand, bung and spigot, priced at $79.29.

How long should whiskey sit in a 1L oak barrel?

Much less time than in a full-size cask. With this much wood contact, flavor builds fast. Start sampling early through the spigot and bottle it once it tastes right to you.

• Soak the barrel in water first so the American oak staves swell tight.
• The charred inside adds color and sweet, toasty notes.
• Char level isn't specified, so check the listing.
• Great for trying white whiskey, rum or a small batch of wine.
