Wasmund's Copper Fox Distillery Mini Oak Barrel With Stand Real Barrel

About this barrel

For fans of the distillery, a Wasmund's Copper Fox Distillery mini oak barrel with stand is a standout shelf piece. The title calls it a real barrel, and this used one sells for $44.95. You can display it as a keepsake or put it back to work aging spirits at home.

Can you age whiskey in a used Copper Fox mini barrel?

The listing files it under aging, but used barrels can dry out. Fill it with water and let the wood swell for a few days, then check for leaks before you add spirits.

• Capacity: not stated, so check the description or ask the seller.
• Fittings: ask whether a spigot and bung are included.
• Previous use: ask what it held, since past contents affect flavor.
• Small barrel tip: mini casks age quickly, so taste often.
