Old Antique Wooden Oak Powder/Liquor Keg Staved Barrel Metal Bands 8”Tall Carved

About this barrel

Small enough to sit on a mantel, this antique oak powder keg stands 8 inches tall. Metal bands hold the staved wood together, and the body is carved. The seller describes it as an old powder or liquor keg, the kind of piece collectors of early cooperage and rustic decor look for.

Is an antique oak powder keg usable for aging liquor?

Treat it as a display piece. The listing doesn't state its age or condition, or whether it still holds liquid. Don't plan on filling it unless the seller confirms it's sound.

• Look closely at the photos for cracks, loose bands and the detail of the carving.
• Ask the seller about its age, origin and any restoration.
• It works as a bar-shelf accent, a bookend or a conversation piece in a den.
• It's priced at $159 and covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
