Charred White Oak Aging Barrel for Whiskey No Import Fees

About this barrel

Char is what gives whiskey its caramel and vanilla notes, and this charred white oak aging barrel for whiskey brings that to a home setup. It's listed as new, and the title says there are no import fees.

What does a charred oak barrel do to whiskey?

The blackened interior softens harsh edges and adds color, sweetness and smoky depth. A heavier char works faster and tastes bolder. The listing data doesn't give the char level or capacity, so check the description.

• Size first: smaller barrels age faster, so confirm the volume before you plan a batch.
• Swell it: fill with water and wait until the leaks stop before adding spirit.
• Taste on a schedule: sample weekly so the whiskey doesn't get too oaky.
• Beyond whiskey: rum and brandy also take well to charred oak.
