ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE OLD WOODEN CANTEEN KEG BARREL - IRON BANDED

About this barrel

This antique primitive wooden canteen keg is a small oak barrel held together with iron bands. It's the kind of rustic piece collectors look for when they build a farmhouse or early-Americana display. An independent eBay seller has it listed at $60.00. The condition isn't stated, so read the description and look at every photo before you buy.

Is an antique wooden canteen keg better for display or for use?

Plan on display first. Old oak and iron age unevenly, and the listing doesn't say whether it still holds liquid, so ask the seller before you fill it.

• Size: exact dimensions aren't given. Check the listing or message the seller.
• Iron bands: look closely at the hoops for rust, gaps or looseness.
• Staves: zoom in on the wood for cracks, wormholes or repairs.
• Styling: it suits a mantel, a shelf or a primitive-decor display.
