New! 🚨Hammer + Axe Whiskey Barrel 1L, 800ml/27 fl oz Volume Vintage Wood Design

About this barrel

The Hammer + Axe whiskey barrel is listed as 1L with an 800ml (27 fl oz) volume, which probably means it holds a bit less than its nominal size. It's new, made of oak, and has a vintage wood design that looks at home on a bar cart.

Why does a 1L whiskey barrel hold only 800ml?

The title gives both numbers without explaining them. Message the seller to confirm the actual capacity so you buy the right amount of spirit for your first batch.

• Swell it: water goes in first. Add spirits once the leaks stop.
• Small batch: about a bottle's worth ages quickly, so taste often.
• Good for: whiskey, bourbon, rum or a batched Old Fashioned.
• Gift angle: a new barrel for birthdays or Father's Day.
