5L/1.32Gal Wine Barrel Wooden Whiskey Barrel Bourbon Wine Barrel Home

About this barrel

The title of this new 5L wine barrel names wine, whiskey and bourbon. It holds 1.32 gallons, and an independent eBay seller lists it at $28.92. It's an easy size for a home cellar or bar corner.

Can I age homemade wine in a 5L wine barrel?

Yes. Oak is the classic choice for wine. Small barrels add flavor quickly, so taste every week or two and rack the wine off when the oak tastes balanced.

• Before use: rinse it and swell it with water until the joints seal.
• Switching: after wine, you can reuse the barrel for a spirit, which will pick up some wine flavor.
• Details: check the listing for the char level and included hardware.
• Storage: keep it full and away from direct heat.
